Message in a Bottle
Message in a Bottle looks at the paradox of water’s potential to create beauty and life as well as conflict and unrest. Designed as a creative enquiry, Message in a Bottle makes an imaginative space for youth work trainers and young Europeans to explore the rich dynamics of this paradox in 21st century Europe. The project has been designed to enable leading European promoters of youth work in non-formal education, young people, experts in environment and social studies to collaborate and investigate creatively and practically how water (or the lack of it) impacts on their lives. Water is an element common to all humanity, it is both universal and specific, it flows and stagnates, once plentiful is now becoming scarce. The project enables participants to work across cultural differences and geographical terrain and to use water as a metaphor for cultural exchange, creative dialogue and environmental learning. New skills, gained alongside a collective purpose as European citizens, is the project primary objective.
